Dalston/Kingsland Hackney Central Shoreditch Stoke Newington About this site

About

The Hackney Walks website currently has four walks which cover some of the rich and diverse history of the area contained within the London borough of Hackney.

The site eventually aims to detail six walks around the borough, highlighting the architectural and historical significance of a number of prominent buildings and locations. It offers route maps and supporting information on sites of interest.

Please note that the distances shown are approximate.

How to use this site

All of the pages necessary for the walk have been designed to be printed out as A4 pages and may be used to guide the walker.

There are two sections to each of the walks:

 1  The Route
The map can be viewed as a thumbnail or as a full-page file. Points of interest are numbered and each acts as a link. Clicking on the link will take you to the relevant information pertaining to that item on the more details pages.

 2  More Details
These provide short descriptions of the numbered locations on the route offering information relating to architecture, history or future plans. Clicking on the link will take you back to the route page.
